Our weathervane mounting system penetrates the roof, so it is suggested that provisions be made during building construction to accept the supporting shaft. We feel this is the most secure way of keeping the hand made weathervane shaft in a vertically plumb position. All of our weathervanes are also supplied with a hold down or locking device which helps to ensure that the weathervane will not lift off of the shaft during high winds, or in the event of an attempted theft!
